Communication Specialist

HealthAxis Group, a leader in healthcare technology, is searching for a Communication Specialist to join our growing team here in Tampa, FL. The Communication Specialist will assist in the process of telling the organizational story of our team, our solutions, our culture, and our achievements internally and externally through written and visual communications. The Specialist will assist in conducting the everyday marketing communications for the organization including printed collateral, blog posts, web content, newsletters, power points, instructional videos, social media, corporate memos or emails. The Specialist must be able to effectively manage deadlines while working with a high degree of independence. The Specialist will interface with Senior Management and Human Resources to understand or plan communication pieces and a content release cycle.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Regularly updates internal communications (hosted on a SharePoint intranet, reflecting on our culture, accomplishments, and values)
  • Solicits, Edits and publishes content provided by multiple contributor
  • Produces a quarterly newsletter, combining informational pieces by multiple contributors with special columns written by the candidate, such as “get-to-know-you” interviews with employees and teams
  • Generates a monthly “Cool Things at HealthAxis Group” piece, where different teams report projects, milestones, accomplished, etc.
  • Supports marketing communication plan including positioning, competitive analysis, and customer segmentation
  • Brainstorms and shares creative ideas to the development of themes, and primary and secondary messages for all promotional materials.
  • Develops and contributes to the company’s blog and social media content
  • Manages, writes and deploys email campaigns through marketing automation and CRM systems
  • Assists with marketing initiatives and implementation
  • Plans and manages corporate events, community outreach and employee team-building exercises
  • Sets meetings and records minutes for the Growth Team

Experience and Required Skills:

  • Must be creative, positive, and professional while reflecting all of these characteristics in a corporate narrative tone
  • Well versed in content marketing and applications; experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing
  • Demonstrated ability to apply learned knowledge through programs and/or services to different editorial, web and video projects
  • Ability to write clear, concise and compelling copy
  • Advanced computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • 3 or more years of writing and editing social and technical communications
  • Working knowledge of design software and applications such as InDesign, Photoshop and HTML
  • Familiar with Google Analytics and analyzing data to improve marketing efforts
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to execute multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of website best practices including tagging, SEO, traffic tracking

Preferred but not required:

  • Familiarity with platforms such as WordPress and SharePoint
  • Experience deploying google and social media ad campaigns
  • Familiarity with Journalism and the Journalistic process


Bachelor’s in marketing/communication
