Health Axis Group, a leader in healthcare technology, is searching for a Database Administrator to join our team. The DBA will provide technical and administrative support for multiple SQL Servers and Databases.



  • Design, install and perform ongoing maintenance and create documentation for the database environments
  • Develop maintenance and backup procedures, change control processes and operational documentation
  • Assist in working with databases, planning and implementing production changes and assisting with query optimization
  • Implement and perform capacity planning, performance monitoring and reporting processes
  • Implement and perform proactive system monitoring to ensure high-availability and performance
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning and optimization activities
  • Create project plans for complex projects and monitors and reports project status. Maintains a log of issues and coordinates activities to resolve them
  • Escalate and communicate system outages to the appropriate levels of management
  • Understanding schema and dimension options beyond relational to include such techniques as star, cubes and other options to support best hosting options


Processes, Standards & Best Practices

  • Assume active participation in continual refinement of processes, policies and best practices to ensure optimal availability/stability, performance, security and supportability of technologies.



  • Must have 2+ years of database administration experience with SQL Server, Oracle experience desired, experience with InterSystems Caché a plus
  • At least 1+ years’ experience working with large databases
  • At least 2+ years’ experience with backup and recovery strategies and procedures
  • Experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting
  • Experience designing and implementing High Availability (HA) configurations
  • Experience working with file systems that are hosted in a SAN environment
  • SQL Server 2016
  • Database Administration principals and best practices
  • Application development practices and techniques
  • High Availability database configurations (HA DB)
  • Understanding schema options beyond relational to include Data Warehouse and ETL
  • Server administration and associated operating system technologies
  • Excellent knowledge in SQL Server
  • Implementing solutions for database backup and recovery infrastructure
  • Build operational Operations and Maintenance (O&M) checklists to maintain the service (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly O&M checklists); build Tactics, Techniques and Processes (TTPs) and Standard Operating Processes (SOPs) associated with service checklists
  • Adding or modifying system/user permissions to databases or database servers
  • Ensure proactive engagement in Incident Management process, working with cross-functional teams to minimize the impact of database outages
  • Generating various reports by querying from database as needed



  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
