Vice President of People

Rebecca Pessel, a strategic, hands-on human resource executive, is the Vice President of People at HealthAxis. She is responsible for shaping the lifecycle of our high-performing workforce, creating an inclusive and people-first culture, and advancing our mission and growth to create value for our team members and customers.

In addition to a deep desire to support others, Rebecca possesses more than 20 years of human resources expertise within the technology, healthcare, telecommunications and logistics sectors, including high growth companies. Most recently, she was sr. director of human resources business partners for Hays, a global staffing firm, focused on perm and contractor placement in technology and non-technology roles.

Before joining Hays, she served as regional director of human resources for AdventHealth, a prominent healthcare system. Rebecca successfully and simultaneously integrated many acquisitions and grew the headcount by nearly 200%. Additionally, Rebecca played a key role in launching the non-acute business for the West Florida division, showcasing her ability to navigate complex organizational challenges.

She held executive positions as vice president of resources for UMA and senior leadership positions for Kforce, and Brighthouse Networks, an Advance Newhouse Company.

Rebecca began her career in sales and inadvertently found her passion in human resources as she was promoted to the first regional human resources supervisor for Enterprise Leasing Company of Detroit.

Her drive and accomplishments stem from her genuine desire to touch people's lives and a profound recognition of the pivotal role human resources plays in enabling both team members and customers to achieve their goals. She is deeply passionate about inspiring individuals to build meaningful careers and thrive in their respective environments.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Rebecca leads a fulfilling life by embracing a healthy and holistic lifestyle. Her commitment extends beyond the workplace, as she actively advocates for animal rights and welfare, aligning her personal values with her professional pursuits.
