Senior Vice President of Healthcare Operations

Candice McGee, a skilled data-driven professional, is the Senior Vice President of Healthcare Operations for HealthAxis. Candice is responsible for executing our healthcare operations strategy, building our operational team, and delivering quality customer service.

Candice has extensive experience building, transforming, and leading operations, configuration, and training teams. She is masterful at establishing metrics, realizing operational efficiencies, and working with people, processes, and technology to provide first-rate customer experiences and achieve targeted business outcomes.

Previous to joining Healthaxis, Candice was vice president of operations for the Government Employees Health Association (GEHA). She oversaw enrollment, appeals, claims, mailroom operations, imaging and data entry, subrogation, cost recovery, and business operations. Candice implemented the first RPA process within the health plan generating savings of more than two million dollars.

Before advancing as the vice president, she served as the health plan business director for three years. By challenging the status quo and implementing innovative processes to increase efficiency, she improved the company’s auto-adjudication rates by 9% in the first year and consecutively advanced the rate year over year.

Candice began her healthcare career as an MS/PS Specialist at Physicians Plus Insurance Corporations, where she spent 18 years honing her expertise. Promoted several times during her tenure, she held various positions, including transactional systems learning specialist, manager of business integrations, applications support, and training director. Finally, as the director of claims and benefits, Ms. McGee oversaw the daily activities within all areas of the claims payment process. In addition, she sat on many strategic committees within the organization to help direct and improve workflow within the company.

Candice holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration and management, along with several professional healthcare certificates. In her community, she serves as a board officer of Lee’s Summit Girls Softball Association.
