Heather Peterson
Senio Vice President of Finance and Compliance
Heather Peterson is the Senior Vice President of Finance and Compliance at HealthAxis, overseeing all finance, compliance, and legal operations for the company. With 32 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Heather is a seasoned professional who has proven herself to be a leader in finance on both the payor and provider sides of healthcare.
Before joining HealthAxis, Heather held a variety of CFO/finance leadership roles at organizations such as Memorial Hermann Health Plans, WellPath’s Local Government Division, HealthSpring/Cigna HealthSpring, and Aspire Health. She also spent 15 years at Ernst & Young, auditing both public and private healthcare and insurance organizations.
Heather is an active CPA and earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
In her free time, she enjoys attending games as a season ticket holder for the Tennessee Titans and Nashville Predators. Heather is dedicated to community service, serving on the boards of two non-profits. She is also an accomplished runner, having completed 52 half marathons, and an avid traveler, having visited 52 of the USA’s 63 National Parks, 15 countries, and 4 continents, including Antarctica.
