Rebecca Pessel is the Senior Vice President of People at HealthAxis, where she is committed to fostering an inclusive, people-first culture that prioritizes employee engagement, retention, and satisfaction. With a focus on empowering team members and building a high-performing workforce, Rebecca plays a pivotal role in advancing HealthAxis’ mission to create value for both employees and customers through innovative HR strategies.
Rebecca joined HealthAxis in January 2023 as Vice President of People, bringing with her more than 20 years of human resources leadership experience across technology, healthcare, telecommunications, and logistics sectors. Prior to joining HealthAxis, Rebecca was the Senior Director of Human Resources Business Partners for Hays, a global staffing firm specializing in permanent and contractor placement across technology and non-technology roles.
Before her time at Hays, she served as Regional Director of Human Resources for AdventHealth, a prominent healthcare system. Rebecca successfully and simultaneously integrated many acquisitions and grew the headcount by nearly 200%. Additionally, Rebecca played a key role in launching the non-acute business for the West Florida division, showcasing her ability to navigate complex organizational challenges. She’s also held executive positions as Vice President of Human Resources for UMA and senior leadership positions for Kforce, and Brighthouse Networks, an Advance Newhouse Company.
Rebecca’s career began in sales, but her passion for human resources was ignited when she became the first Regional Human Resources Supervisor for Enterprise Leasing Company of Detroit, where she laid the groundwork for HR practices in the region. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a deep commitment to empowering individuals to achieve personal and professional success while driving organizational growth and transformation.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Rebecca leads a fulfilling life by embracing a healthy and holistic lifestyle. Her commitment extends beyond the workplace, as she actively advocates for animal rights and welfare, aligning her personal values with her professional pursuits.
